ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that Operation Zarb-e-Azb had broken the back of militants and damaged them severely.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan did not wish to be involved in an arms race with anyone. He said that Pakistan had kept the balance of power in South Asia intact so as to maintain peace in the region.
Nawaz said that in order to maintain peace and security in Pakistan, a selfless approach which was above political and personal benefits, was needed. He said that many projects which were a part of the CPEC, including those pertaining to infrastructure, energy and other areas, were immensely important.
Nawaz also said that Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities were a testament to its strong defence.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed grave concern over pellet gun use by Indian security forces in Occupied Kashmir.
In a statement, he said a large number of innocent Kashmiris have lost their eyesight after sustaining wounds from pellet guns.
The prime minister labelled the use of brutal force as absolute persecution of Kashmiris. He called on international community to take notice of the atrocities against people of Occupied Kashmir.-Web Desk
