ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has asked government and NAB to submit the details of those who voluntarily submitted ill-gotten money. Chief Justice expressed vexation on the absence of the Attorney General by recommending the prosecution to send him abroad permanently as he is mostly unavailable in the hearing of crucial cases.

Justice Ameer Hani Muslim asked whether inquiries have been conducted to investigate those who have voluntary returned money. Prosecution lawyer Rana Waqar answered by saying that no investigation has been carried out against any government officer.

Chief Justice stated that if this law is allowed to prevail then country’s jails can be emptied; any thief from whom money is procured should not only be freed but also thanked. He added that a committee or commission is formed to solve any issue which is intended to be delayed. This is an old practice which is still prevalent.

Supreme Court adjourned the case till October 24.-Web Desk
