KARACHI: The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has reached 32,081 Tuesday as the government opened more businesses since ordering relaxation in the lockdown aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), Pakistan recorded another 1,140 cases of COVID-19 and 39 deaths, bringing the countywide total to 32,081 with 706 deaths attributed to the respiratory illness.
Pakistan has so far conducted 305,851 coronavirus tests and 10,957 during last 24 hours. Patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.
Punjab and Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
11,869 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 12,017 in Sindh, 4,875 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,061 in Balochistan, 716 in Islamabad, 457 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 86 in Azad Kashmir.
8,555 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. –Web Desk
