ISLAMABAD: Independent Senator Mirza Mohammad Afridi on Wednesday tested negative for coronavirus after contracting the infection last month.
Afridi said he would attend the Upper House’s session tomorrow (Thursday) after recovering from the virus. The politician had been practicing self-isolation at his home in Lahore ever since he tested positive.
Afridi was not the first politician to contract coronavirus in Pakistan. Last month, the speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Asad Qaiser, as well as his son and daughter, had also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
However, earlier on Tuesday, Qaiser had revealed that he had recovered from the novel coronavirus and had been shifted back to his residence.-Web Desk
